Design Consultant
We are looking for a dynamic Design Consultant to join us in helping homeowners bring their dreams to reality. You will be responsible for contacting and nurturing leads, guiding potential clients through the design and construction process, and driving new business to the company. This role combines the thorough understanding of design and construction with sales expertise, allowing you to act as a trusted advisor to homeowners seeking to renovate their homes. You will collaborate closely with the design team, estimating team, and production team to ensure that client expectations are met from initial concept through completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Management & Sales:
Meet with prospective clients to understand their needs, budgets, and vision for their residential project.
Present company services, portfolio, and design options, customizing solutions to meet the client’s specific needs and desires.
Prepare and deliver thorough and accurate budgets, proposals, and initial timelines.
Follow up on leads and opportunities, managing the full project cycle from initial consultation through project completion.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication and a positive experience throughout the sales process.
Provide expert guidance on design trends, materials, budgets, and the construction process.
Address client questions, concerns, and objections, ensuring a smooth transition from the design phase through the construction phase.
Act as a liaison between clients and the internal design and construction teams to ensure that project expectations are aligned.
Effectively communicate the budget, changes in scope and cost implications to the client.
Collaboration & Coordination:
Work closely with design, estimating, and project management teams to ensure that client and project requirements are clearly understood and executed.
Assist in coordinating site visits, design iterations, and material selections with clients.
Provide feedback on market trends to help refine sales strategies and improve project delivery.
Sales Targets & Reporting:
Track and meet or exceed individual annual sales goals and targets.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client interactions, project progress, and sales activities in the company’s CRM system.
Qualifications:
Experience in residential design, construction, or remodeling (3+ years preferred).
Strong design and technical skills, and knowledge of residential design-build processes, materials, and construction techniques.
Ability to sketch and effectively communicate complex ideas to clients and translate their vision into actionable plans.
Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills with a client-focused approach.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity in using CRM software & Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with construction administration.
Willingness to be coached and share ideas within a team environment.
Ambitious attitude towards work.
Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Architecture, Design, or Construction Management is preferred.
