cost expectations

A HOME PROJECT
starts with clarity.

Every home and every project is different, and so is the investment it takes to bring it to life. Nicholson shares real cost ranges early, before any proposal, so a client always knows what to expect.

Design & build, together from the start

Because design and construction happen under one roof, budget stays part of the conversation from day one. A client should always feel informed about where their investment is going.

Common Questions
from our clients

A few common questions about working with Nicholson, from process and timelines to investment and communication.

Every project is unique and as a result, every estimate reflects the specific scope, materials, and site conditions of a project. The pricing is determined by the exact selections that are being made and current labor rates.

An estimate covers design, materials, labor, and project management for the agreed scope. Anything outside that scope is discussed and approved before it becomes part of the project.

An exact number is difficult to nail down at an initial meeting.  However, our team will prepare a preliminary budget after our first meeting, and the budget will get updated as the process moves forward resulting in a more complete number by the time the full scope is identified and all selections have been made.

Nicholson can walk through financing options during an initial conversation and help connect clients with resources that fit their project.

Custom materials, structural changes, and expanded scope are the most common reasons a project lands higher in its preliminary budget. Nicholson flags these possibilities early so they're not a surprise when it comes time to see a final construction proposal.

It's never too early to budget for your project, and budget conversations often take place during the first phone call or first meeting on site.  Early conversations about budget help shape a design that fits comfortably within it from the beginning.
